Last week, Kaya 959’s Tbose Mokwele was recognised by Proudly SA at their Local Fashion Police competition for his unwavering support of the local fashion industry through his show, The Best T in the City, and social media platforms.
Throughout the years, Tbose has consistently supported local brands, designers, and businesses.

Reflecting on the acknowledgement, Tbose noted, “This acknowledgement signifies that our efforts, both as a station and as a host, are recognized. Supporting local brands has become an inherent part of my character. Wherever I go, I actively seek out exceptional South African brands.”
He emphasised his commitment to amplifying local brands, increasing their visibility, and encouraging support for local “When you wear local, you create more jobs, and in essence, that is what we need. Entrepreneurship is the only way we can solve our country’s problems.
“I think this has helped to change the mindset of our people in terms of wearing proudly local brands,” said Tbose.
