A listener shared that he will soon be a groomsman at his best friend’s wedding. When he agreed to this, he was still dating his ex, and they had planned to do it together. However, they broke up, and he is now with someone else. With the wedding approaching in a few days, his current girlfriend doesn’t want him to be a groomsman next to his ex. He is not willing to back down, and he told his girlfriend she couldn’t make him change his decision.
“Uncle T, my boy paid lobola last year, and now the wedding day is coming up. Unfortunately, things between me and my girlfriend ended in December. We are both part of the wedding, and we were partnered up as groomsmen and bridesmaids. I have since found someone new, and my current is not happy about me with a groomsman next to my ex.
“I explained to her that me and my ex can’t be selfish, as this has long been decided and plans are way ahead of cancel now. Me and my ex agreed to be mature about things since we are pretty much in the same friends’ group, and we have since asked to be shuffled around so not
to be in each other’s faces. And I told this to my current, and she is not having it. She has told me to pull out of being a groomsman or she will leave. I told her. She can leave. Am I wrong?“We are still together, though, but ku tense. I also invited her to attend the wedding with me, but she keeps complaining. that she will be sitting all by herself the whole day. She can’t just be a spectator. I don’t know now. What could be my blind spot?”
