MÖRDA, formerly known as Murdah Bongz, joins My Top 10 at 10 with Tbose following the release of his second solo album, Asante.
Speaking about his decision to go solo in 2022, he revealed that it was something he had contemplated many years ago.
“I thought about going solo six years ago. You always have to plan ahead. It had nothing to do with me thinking I was the Beyonce of the group.”
While working on his latest project, he had the input of his fellow musicians and his wife, DJ Zinhle, who helped him with the arrangement of some of the songs. MÖRDA also commended his longtime collaborator, Brenden Praise.
“Brenden has been my brother since the day I met him. He has been giving me honest opinions on the music.”
MORDA plans on following in the footsteps of Black Coffee, Major League DJz, and Uncle Waffles, who have enjoyed success both locally and internationally. He also shared the heartwarming story of how he and his wife, DJ Zinhle, started dating.
