A 30-year-old listener, who is a virgin, recently shared that she has been in a relationship with her boyfriend for six months and everything seems to be going well. She has told him that she wants to wait until marriage before having sex, but she is worried that he might lose patience.
“Uncle T, I am a 30-year-old virgin. I have been with this guy for over 6 months, and I must admit he ticks all my boxes. He has been very understanding and patient with me; however, I am afraid he will run out of patience. I always said I want to preserve myself for marriage and I feel I have done a good job. I am 30, I love him, and he loves me. I have come so far in not having sex, should I succumb now?
“He is not bringing it up and that makes me wonder or I should not stress? My friends say he is getting somewhere else, hence there’s no pressure from him. But what will it mean should I go back on my word and just give in? I just don’t want to lose him to another woman. At the same time, I don’t to pressurize to hurry up and marry me. What could be my blind spot?”
