South African actress Lerato Mvelase graces the latest cover of Bona Magazine alongside her daughters, Nikiwe and Nkanyezi.
In the latest issue, the multi-talented star reflects on her career, love, motherhood, and the transformative power of refusing to play small.
An advocate for women’s empowerment, Mvelase has consistently used her platform to inspire others. On Mother’s Day in 2021, she encouraged mothers to embrace self-love and recognise their worth.
“Hey mums as we get ready to celebrate being mothers , I would like to remind you to truly embrace the meaning of being a mum in it’s entirety and celebrate. Being a mum is hard, very hard but look how far we’ve come through all the hardships,” she wrote.
Mvelase noted that women should never pressure themselves to be the perfect mother.
“Let your kids be the reason you wake up and try again, let their existence put a smile on your face for they love you unconditionally. It’s not about being perfect but being able to put your kids first, their needs before yours. Giving your time, hugs and kisses, your love and support even when you need them yourself,” she shared, adding that mothers should also take time to spoil themselves.
“Take time to truly embrace yourself over a glass of wine or bubbles, of course, and trust that you have done well with your kids.”
