Gweezy has graduated! The Minister of Mineral resources and National chairperson of the ANC, Gwede Mantashe, has graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree.
Mantashe, at 65 years, managed to juggle his time between government, party, and school work to get his master’s degree at Mancosa. His studies coincided with tumultuous periods in his party, the ANC, of which he is the national chairman. The party was faced with internal fights over the step-aside resolution, which resulted in the resignation of key leaders.
Because of the COVID-19 regulations, Mantashe graduated virtually from home. He used his graduation speech to encourage young people to study.
“When you achieve your MBA, you don’t feel the length of the journey, you enjoy the qualification and you go about telling people that I’ve got a new qualification, the MBA. It takes courage and it’s quite an important qualification,” Mantashe said.
