Apple’s secret discussions about a futuristic technology have finally come to light. The tech giant began working on “Project Titen,” a driverless vehicle that they’ve been developing for over the last six years. A thousand workers have been building the electric vehicle at a hidden location near its Cupertino headquarters.

Recent reports from late last year stated that Apple was still working on a complete car, and right now, plans to release a vehicle in three to six years. The tech giant aims to create a self-driving vehicle that will allow passengers to input their destination and be driven with “little or no other engagement.“ It will take a lot of convincing for consumers in relation to their safety while operating the car.

An open secret?
A few years ago, Apple CEO Tim Cook shared that they were working on future technology, which was harder to hide due to regulations despite Apple’s long tradition of not spilling the beans on what they are working on.

“We’re focusing on autonomous systems. It’s a core technology that we view as very important. We sort of it as the mother of all AI projects. It’s probably one of the most difficult AI projects actually to work on, ” he said.
Who will be the official car manufacturer for Apple?
In the last months, there have been wide speculations about who will be the official manufacturer for the car. Big names like Kia, Volkswagen and Hyundai have all been speculating about having talks with the tech giant, with Kia and Hyundai coming out and rubbishing the claim. There hasn’t been an official confirmation of which carmaker will partner with Apple at this stage.
