Dearest Reader,
It has come to our attention that former Miss Universe (2019), Zozibini Tunzi will be donning her crown once more to host the ton’s (town’s) Bridgerton soireé.
Fans of the Netflix series eagerly anticipate Season 2 of the regency-era, period drama which is set for a global release on 25 March. To mark the occasion, local celebrities are breaking out their finest outfits for the upcoming social event of the season.
As reported by IOL, the Bridgerton soireé will take place on Saturday, 26 March at the Inanda Club. Who better to take on the role of the exuberant Her Majesty Queen Charlotte than SA’s very own queen, Zozibini Tunzi.
The regal host will offer her guests a night splendour with touch Africa of course.
Those familiar with the show will know that Lady Whistledown’s role in the series is what makes the show. Her intricately detailed gossip column sets tongues wagging with every lady and gentleman’s sordid affairs laid bare.
Coconut Kelz will be fitting this role on the night with Donovan Goliath playing the Queen’s royal guard Brimsley.
A magical performance by Osama hitmaker Zakes Bantwini will complete the lavish evening.
Sadly, Season 2 of the series will not include everyone’s favourite Duke of Hastings, “Your Grace”, Simon Basset played by Regé-Jean Page.
There may be just a small cameo appearance by the smouldering Duke but the actor will not be the main focus this time.
Instead, Sir Anthony Bridgerton will dominate Season 2. The eligible eldest Bridgerton has just entered the market on the lookout for a wife.
The Viscount, second in rank to a Duke who was involved in a heated love affair with his mistress in Season 1, is all set to marry when Bridgerton returns.
