WATCH: Monica jumped off the stage to confront a man punching a woman during her performance.
US singer, rapper, and actress Monica couldn’t help but stand up for a woman who was being physically assaulted during her recent concert.
The “Angel of Mine” hitmaker was seen in a video from Saturday night’s Riverfront Music Festival leaping off the stage to confront the male attacker.
She is heard in a video circulating on social media saying “You don’t hit no f**k..’ lady like that,” as she abruptly stopped her performance.

While security officers followed Monica into the crowd, the audience applauded in agreement.

Following the event, Monica returned to the stage and expressed her regret to the audience for losing her cool.
“That sh*t triggered me,”
“I seen him punch that lady in the face, I lost my f**kin’ temper. I apologize ya’ll. I apologize from the bottom of my heart.”
“I was gonna knock [his] ass out with this f**kin mic.” said Monica

On Sunday, Monica commented on The Shade Room’s Instagram post about the altercation.
“I apologized there and I’m apologizing here for my actions but no one would take action!” she wrote. “I was so triggered, I watched and she didn’t appear to even know him!”
“It appeared to be about space during a packed concert!”.
“He punched her with all his strength! My intentions were to prevent her from being hit again and she wasn’t! I asked for help, it fell on deaf ears! It was like seeing my mother or an aunt be assaulted!! This woman was 50+ I pray she’s ok!” wrote Monica
