Mark Pilgrim’s family and friends will be honouring the late radio personality with a memorial service on Friday, 10 March.
Pilgrim lost his battle to Stage 4 lung cancer on Sunday, 05 March, after undergoing 7 procedures and being in hospital for 64-days.
The 53-year old had just proposed to his partner, Adrienne Watkins on New Years Eve and was looking forward to his cancer going into remission.
Adrienne, who has just broken her silence over her loss, will be paying tribute to the man she calls her hero.
“In celebration of South Africa’s legend and inspiration, the best dad ever, my Mark, my soulmate, my hero. Tune in at 09h30 on Friday, 10 March.”
Pilgrim and Adrienne dated for two years before he proposed and the picture of their future together is one of the reasons the radio presenter fought so bravely against cancer.
The radio veteran leaves behind his two daughters, Tayla-Jean and Alyssa, ex-wife Nicole Torres and his fiancée Adrienne.
Tributes from radio industry colleagues poured through for Pilgrim this week.
Mark Pilgrim enjoyed an illustrious radio and television career at the SABC, Kfm and 947, before joining Hot 102.7 FM.
