Actor Tumisho Masha has won an 8-year custody battle against his ex-wife over parental alienation.
Sharing how much this win means to him in an emotional Instagram post, the actor and television presenter says he had to endure years of fabricated charges against him, which were all done in an effort to alienate him from his daughter.
The actor, best known for his role as Dumisani Thusong on the soapie Isidingo and presenting the magazine show Top Billing, won his case at the Johannesburg High Court with costs.
Tumisho says he was subjected to drug tests from 2018, despite testing negative for the use of intoxicating substances, and accused of exuding aggressive behaviour towards his daughter.
The actors says he’s been in and out of court rooms since he separated from his ex-wife, despite his child’s continued desire to want to spend equal time with both parents.
“Today I was fortunate enough to leave the Johannesburg High Court after a successful appearance and winning the case with full costs.
My journey of fathering has not only cost me emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically. but it has also cost me financially.
I continue to keep fathers in mind who continue this journey of parental alienation.
My goal will remain to share my story to encourage and give hope to those fathers who find themselves fighting the very war I find myself in.”

Tumisho Masha shared that parents who strive to separate their children from their ex-partners are committing a form of child abuse.
“The way you treat your children after your relationship ends is imperative to the well-being of the child. Parental alienation can have severe effects on children’s health and emotional growth.”
