In 2021, Tshedi announced her departure from the band Malaika, effective immediately, after being a member since 2003.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce my departure from the band,” she wrote in a statement. “Effective immediately, I would like to inform you that I will not be performing publicly or engaging in any other activities under the banner of Malaika.”
In 2024, following a disagreement with former group member Bongani, Tshedi requested that her performances, vocals, and all other creative contributions be removed from the group’s repertoire.
