Actress Shoki Mmola bows out of Skeem Saam after being part of the cast for more than 10 years playing the character Celia Magongwa.
Announcing her exit from the educational drama, Shoki thanks everyone “who’s been a fan of her work for the past 28 years, including the 10 years on Skeem.”
She did not reveal her next venture but hinted that she’ll “be telling more stories.”
Skeem Saam confirmed Shoki’s exit. “Mmola will not be featured in the new season starting Monday 4th July 2022.”
Shoki, 44, has done extensive work in theatre. She’s appeared in productions such as Ancient Stars at the Giant Theatre, Space Odyssey at the Grahamstown Festival, The Pen at The Market Theatre, and Gogo’s Groove at the Aardklop Festival.
