This past Friday, the SABC issued a statement announcing that they were taking radio presenter Sebasa Mogale off air following the Carte Blanche episode where he was alleged to be involved in a cryptocurrency investment scam.
Sebasa, who also stars as Dr Hlongwane on Skeem Saam, was unscheduled from Thobela FM to be afforded time to deal with the allegations raised on Carte Blanche last week Sunday.
In the meantime, Mankoko Baby will be hosting Thobela FM’s drivetime show alongside Skhumbuso Mbatha.
“The station takes the welfare of its vulnerable listeners seriously and will leave no stone unturned in its investigating of this matter,” read the statement from the SABC.
Responding to the allegations against him, Sebasa says he is only a Network Marketer and has never imposed or coerced anyone to sign up. He further states that he does not own any cryptocurrency company.
He adds that he “responded with all the details and clarifications upon receiving an e-mail from Carte Blanche querying about the allegations against him” which – according to him – “Carte Blanche chose to not share his entire response during the broadcast on Sunday. May 15th, 2022.”
Closing off his statement, he says he remains accessible to all the people who were introduced to the business by him.
