This past Valentine’s Day, Rachel Kolisi, the ex-wife of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, opened up about her heartbreak.
“We do love every day anyway,” she vulnerably expressed. “But this Valentine’s Day, I made a brave decision, and it broke my heart all over again.”
Kolisi shared that “parenting when the world feels like it’s crumbling around you is a different kind of challenge,” adding, “And one I hope I’ll never have to experience at this level again.”
She continued, “I’ve never been more grateful for the very few who showed up to support and lean in this week, especially. One day at a time felt too big this week, so I just took it one hour at a time, and it kind of helped – I made it to Saturday!”
Earlier this month, Rachel gave her social media followers an inside look at her healing journey, sharing both the highs and lows she has endured so far in February. She posted a number of motivational quotes that resonated deeply with her.
Rachel revealed that February has been testing her resilience but shared that she is working on a few projects she will unveil soon. While some of her fans found her posts humorous, others connected with them on a deeper, more personal level.
Siya Kolisi and Rachel announced in October 2024 that they were ending their eight-year marriage. The power couple shared the news on their individual Instagram pages, explaining that their decision followed “much reflection and open conversations.”
Kolisi married Rachel Smith in 2016, and the couple have two children together. They have chosen to remain “great friends” in the best interest of their children and continue to collaborate on their foundation.
