South African rapper Priddy Ugly has taken to social media to share a harrowing personal experience and issue a cautionary message to fellow South Africans in the wake of his cousin’s brutal murder.
Priddy Ugly revealed that his cousin had tragically lost his life two weeks ago when he was fatally stabbed for refusing to hand over a cigarette while on his way to the police station to report an assault that had occurred earlier that day. The rapper expressed deep concern about the prevailing lawlessness in the country and urged South Africans to prioritize their safety.
2 weeks ago, my cousin was stabbed to death by some pharas for refusing to skyf them a loose draw while walking to the police station 5mins away from his home to open a case of assault for an incident that had happened earlier that day. South Ah, is a wild place. Be safe.

In a similar vein, earlier this year, Grammy-award-winning artist Zakes Bantwini suffered a tragic loss when his father, Sihlangusihle Jeffery Khanyile, passed away at the age of 65. Zakes, in an interview with Drum, shared that he would be taking a break from his gigs as he grappled with a whirlwind of emotions and lived in constant fear.
“I won’t be doing any gigs for the next month because I’m paranoid. We’re all fearful; when you live in fear, you have to carefully consider taking on gigs or sharing your shows on Instagram stories,” explained the musician.
In the aftermath of Zakes Bantwini’s recent Grammy win earlier this year, his wife Nandi took to social media to celebrate his remarkable achievement, acknowledging that his late father was undoubtedly looking down on him with pride.
