Reality star Nonku Williams has given her followers an honest update about her post-liposuction recovery, sharing pictures of her body covered in bruises.
Nonku who shared last week that her procedures to get rid of unwanted fat from her back, tummy, arms and thighs were successful, is now home in unbearable pain, and going through a mixed bag of emotions.
Earlier this week Nonku had her first post-op visit with her surgeon and had her drains removed. The Real Housewives of Durban star has to wear pressure garments on the areas that were lipoed for 6 to 8 weeks.
These help to get Nonku snatched, which is something the mom of three is aiming for.
While the visual of her new body is pushing her through the pain, Nonku says she can’t help but associate the physical healing she has to do with emotional healing too.
Her heavily bruised body is not deterring Nonku however, and she is not rushing the healing process, although it feels like she was run over by a bus.
“As I look at my bruised body because of my recent procedure, I can’t help but associate physical healing with emotional healing.
As badly as I want my healing process to be over, I realize that healing really is a process that should not be rushed both physically and emotionally.
Our physical scars and bruises are proof of a horrible ordeal that we endured but because we see them physically and do as other people, we tend to nurse them more and allow nature to take its course, while we also apply necessary measures to speed up our healing like taking pain meds or gently massaging the affected area.
But what about our unseen bruises and scars that other people also can’t see?
We convince ourselves that we have healed while our souls are yelling helplessly for help and we suppress that feeling by taking substances like alcohol or drugs to numb the pain, instead of reaching out and nursing our pain by talking about it.
I don’t know why I’m writing like this Insta family, but something has sparked in me about emotional healing, and I’m led to believe I’m not the only one.
Let’s lend a hand, forgive one another, Sithandane, and bring back hope to the hopeless.
There’s still a chance, sending love and light to everyone that’s going through healing whether physical or emotional.”
