Authorities stated that Nicki Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, was freed from detention on Saturday, a few hours after she was taken into custody by Dutch police on charges of smuggling soft narcotics.
She was rescheduled for this Saturday night at the Co-op Live stadium in Manchester, although Live Nation UK announced the change in an update.
When the incident of her arrest was happening, Nicky Minaj took to social media to share a video of her interaction with law enforcement officials. In the post she stated that “They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show. They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane.”
Just before 4 p.m. ET, police said in a translated post on X that the rapper had been punished and was free to “continue her journey.”
😩 now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls. Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down.
