Melinda Ferguson’s shocking book about Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and Anele Tembe delves into alleged threesomes and foursomes on the night Anele died.
In an explosive interview on Podcast and Chill, Melinda tells Sol Phenduka she does not believe 22-year old Anele jumped from the 10th floor of the luxury Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town on 11 April 2021.
Instead, Melinda believes that “crazy stuff”went down at the hotel before Anele’s death, and suspects something far more sinister happened that fateful night.
The author’s latest book When Love Kills: The Tragic Tale of AKA and Anele, has seen her at the receiving end of death threats and backlash, with the Forbes family distancing themselves from the book.
A former drug user herself, Melinda says the signs that AKA and Anele were using drugs together were present, and she suspects that Anele couldn’t handle the mixture of the intoxicating substances and her psychiatric prescriptions.
“In many ways, I was very disturbed by Anele Tembe falling. I never believed she killed herself, it just sounded weird.
The big thing for me was why didn’t Kiernan go downstairs and check if his fiancée was okay? I found that to be a very strange thing. When you love someone, don’t you want to go check?
Especially if she wasn’t dead. Anele Tembe lay on the side of the road for 20-minutes before she died. Why didn’t he go down and check?”

Melinda relays the account from an eye witness, Rob Stefanutto who reportedly heard a woman scream for her life moments before he heard a loud bang, which sounded like a gun being fired, but it was Anele’s body falling onto the street below.
According to Melinda, Rob went out on his balcony which was opposite the Pepperclub Hotel and looked down onto the street where he saw a woman’s body.
Melinda claims Rob didn’t see AKA, but says AKA saw Rob and admitted this in interview afterwards.
Rob allegedly ran down to the road and shared that Anele was blinking at him suggesting that the young woman from KwaZulu-Natal was still alive at the time.
However, AKA was not at her side according to Melinda, and had gone into the room of someone from his entourage where he was chilling and reportedly ordered tequila.
Melinda says AKA and Anele had a toxic love affair similar to that of Romeo and Juliet.
