Lebo Mathosa’s final resting place has been give a stunning R150 000 upgrade. This after the late Boom Shaka singer’s grave was vandalised and damaged beyond repair.
Mathosa’s family received an offer for a new tombstone by a funeral services company. The new tombstone is a marble statue of the 90’s singing icon with her signature blonde hair and short dress.
Dubbed the group’s “drama queen”, Lebo Mathosa’s new tombstone includes the moniker which is emblazoned on the black and gold marble.
Mathosa died in a car crash in October 2006 in the East Rand.
According to reports her driver lost control of the vehicle they were travelling in and the car overturned between Heidelberg and Grey Avenue, Germiston.
Mathosa was 29-years old at the time, and was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
South African singer Lebo Mathosa (29) died in an accident east of Johannesburg in the early hours on Monday, her manager, Linzy Cowley, said.
The funeral home, Manyano Memorials said they wanted to honour the late singing sensation because they grew up listening to Boom Shaka.
