Kelly Khumalo’s mother, Ntombi, says her granddaughter is a carbon copy of Sezno Meyiwa.
Thingo is the 8-year old daughter of Kelly Khumalo and the late footballer, Senzo Meyiwa, who was killed in an apparent botched robbery at Khumalo’s family home in Vosloorus.
The footballer was killed 7-months after Thingo was born, and there has been much controversy around his murder, including the theory that Kelly Khumalo had accidentally shot her boyfriend.
These allegations were made by the defence attorney, Advocate Malesela Teffo, who is representing four of the five men charged for Meyiwa’s murder.
Now, 8-years later, on her daughter’s reality show, Life With Kelly Khumalo, Ntombi opens up about the father of her granddaughter.
“He left a carbon copy of himself. Thingo is an exact copy of her dad.”

Ntombi also said that since Meyiwa’s murder, her family has been hurt, especially Kelly who lost someone she loved.
Kelly who has never spoken about the events of the night that claimed the life of her lover, has been on the receiving end of intense public scrutiny since his death.
“They don’t want peace for our family. My daughter is hurt, she lost someone she loved!”
Kelly’s mother was, according to Advocate Teffo, one of the suspects implicated in the so-called “second docket” in Meyiwa’s murder trial.
Adv. Teffo said all occupants of the house at the time of the alleged robbery should be considered a suspect, because not only did they tamper with the crime scene but they are covering up what really happened that night.
