Actress and musician Itumeleng Bokaba has formally withdrawn the rape charges she had brought against Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi.
The former Rhythm City star, who is popularly known for her role as Mampho, made the statement on Instagram, adding that she is stepping away from the case to pursue a huge career opportunity.
Bokaba underlined that her decision is not a reflection on her experience or the charges, but rather a desire to completely commit to this new chapter in her life. She also stated that she plans to review the matter whenever she is in a better position to do so.
“I have recently been presented with an amazing career opportunity, one that I never saw coming, but that I know is truly aligned with my purpose. This project requires my full focus, dedication, and for me to remain in a positive headspace so that I can give it my best. For this reason, I have decided to withdraw my case at this time to focus fully on this exciting new chapter.
“However, this does not mean that the case has been dismissed or that my experience is invalid. I remain firm in my truth and will revisit the case at a later stage when I am in a better position to do so.
“Right now, I welcome everyone to join me in this new season of my life. I am excited, grateful, and ready to step into the work God has placed in front of me. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey, I appreciate you more than words can express. The best is yet to come!,” Bokaba wrote on Instagram.
