Idris Elba was spotted shooting a movie scene at the University of Cape Town this week.
The British actor, who has joined forces with Mo Abudu to uplift and empower talent from Africa and the Diaspora, was reportedly in the country for the promotion of his latest movie, Luther: The Fallen Sun.
Luther is now streaming on Netflix, and sees Elba play disgraced detective John Luther.
The movie is a spin-off of Elba’s brilliant iconic TV character.
South Africans who were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the hunky actor, shared clips to social media.
In one clip, women can be heard screaming at the mere sight of Idris Elba, who was also spotted outside a company in Cape Town.

Elba, who was recently in Ghana, has previously spoken about his love for South Africa.
The 50-year old, who is married to model and goodwill ambassador Sabrina, shared that he is often in the country, and sneaks in and out.
“I was just there in Johannesburg about two weeks ago. I get in and out, I sneak in and out. I miss it, I miss working in South Africa. I can’t wait to come and do more work.”
