South African media personality Minnie Dlamini recently took to social media to mark the fifth anniversary of her brother’s passing.
Minnie’s brother, Khosini Dlamini, passed away in 2019 at the age of 27. Khosini, a pilot by profession, died after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm. He was placed on life support for 23 days before succumbing to his injuries.
“Five years ago, we laid you to rest, Captain K, and I still can’t believe you’re not here. I miss your laugh, your jokes, your wisdom (even though you were my baby brother), and I just miss talking to you,” Minnie expressed.
She also shared a touching moment with her son: “The other day, my three-year-old son walked into my room while I was crying because I missed my brother so much. Netha asked, ‘Mama, are you crying because Uncle K died?’ I said yes. He then said, ‘Don’t be sad, Mama, I’m here.’”
The 34-year-old continued, “I quickly wiped away my tears and told him he was right. There’s so much I’m dealing with in my life that’s difficult, but one thing I can’t forget is that I have a beautiful baby boy sent by God, and I owe him the best life possible. That includes making sure I heal so I can raise him right.”
Minnie reflected on the deep impact her brother’s passing had on her, stating that she lost her whole world and a part of herself when he died. However, she believes that God restored her world by giving her a son, for which she remains deeply grateful.
She added that life hasn’t been easy, but she chooses to find the silver lining in every dark situation because i
t’s always there. “You just need to live a life of gratitude, purpose, and make the choice every day to find the good,” she said.
