The first season of Shaka iLembe, won 12 awards at the 18th South African Film and Television prizes (SAFTAs) and made history as the most awarded drama series on Saturday, October 26.
Over the course of the two-night event, Multichoice and M-Net’s DStv TV channels won 46 total. The SABC received 12 awards for varied programs shown by public broadcasters.
Amazon Prime Video won seven awards. ‘The Fragile King’ won five of their seven awards, including Best Feature Film.
