Luxury fashion house, Balenciaga has come under fire for displaying an inappropriate ad campaign.
Balenciaga released a holiday-themed campaign which has featured children who were dressed in Balenciaga all while carrying plush teddy bears and wearing BDSM harnesses.
One image showed a little girl dressed in all-black while holding the strap connected to a white bear. The white bear is also seen in a vest with a padlocked choker around its neck.
Another image sees a young girl dressed in all blue, holding a lilac teddy that seems to be wearing BDSM gear.
The controversial campaign was removed due to public outrage. Many noted that the luxury house was trying to promote child pornography.
Since then Balenciaga has released a statement apologising for the controversial campaign.
“We apologise for displaying unsettling documents in our campaign. We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 2023 campaign photoshoot. We strongly condemn abuse of children in any form. We stand for children’s safety and well-being”, the brand shared on its Instagram.
I burnt all of my Balenciaga T-shirts tonight in protest to the brand actively promoting Child Abuse.
