The Season 5 finale of The Real Housewives of Durban dropped on Friday, 13 June 2025.
After a season filled with drama, shifting alliances, and explosive confrontations, the cast ended their journey with a final dinner during their trip to Mauritius.
But this was no ordinary farewell. As lingering tensions bubbled beneath the surface, old wounds reopened and fresh betrayals came to light, resulting in a charged evening that left viewers stunned.
One of the most talked-about moments of the finale occurred when Nonku was handed an anonymous letter at the dinner table, prompting her to abruptly walk away.
The contents of the letter remain unknown, fuelling intense speculation online and leaving fans with more questions than answers.
Fortunately, the wait for resolution won’t be long. The Real Housewives of Durban Season 5 reunion will air in two parts on Showmax, premiering on 4 July and 11 July 2025.
Returning to host the reunion is MaBlerh, who has previously fronted the reunions for The Real Housewives of Gqeberha Season 1 and The Real Housewives of Johannesburg Season 3.
“The show has a lot of loyal viewers, and I intend to represent all of their views,” says MaBlerh. “They have burning questions that need answers. Being back for the third time is an honour I don’t take lightly. It’s a big responsibility that requires sensitivity, because these ladies are opening up and sharing deeply personal parts of their lives.”
Renowned for his ability to guide emotionally charged conversations with empathy and respect, MaBlerh has established himself as the go-to reunion host in South Africa’s Real Housewives universe.
And this time, he’s promising to go even further.
“This year, I’m making sure that no stone is left unturned. Everyone must be held accountable for what they’ve said and done, so we can get to the heart of the matter,” he says. “Accountability is key. This isn’t just about drama for entertainment’s sake, it’s about honesty, clarity, and sometimes even healing.”
MaBlerh also confirmed that viewer feedback will play a major role in shaping the reunion.
“I’ve seen the tweets, I’ve read the comments and concerns and trust me, everything will be addressed,” he says. “People have been asking the same questions week after week. I hear them. And I’ll be asking those same questions from the reunion chair.”
