Denise Zimba is famous for telling it like it is, but the singer has often been accused of being a little too real.
The 32-year-old made headlines in 2017 when she boldly called Ayanda Thabethe talentless.
“Ayanda is gorgeous… I do not think she is talented. I do not think she has it,” Denise remarked on Vuzu AMP’s show, ‘The V-Table’.
She did not back down from her comments and repeated them a year later.
“She is f****n beautiful but still can’t present,” Denise told Pearl Thusi on ‘Behind the Story’.
Denise apologises to Ayanda
Denise took to Twitter this week to reflect on some of the things she has said and done in the past.
She says she has “learnt and grown so much during my stint in the industry, and becoming a mom” to her daughter, Lead.
“I used to go ham on everything. Everything that didn’t align with my thoughts, principles, values, workmanship, craftsmanship, just go f**king buck! Then the universe stepped in, to remind me …” she wrote.
Denise says during her short time in the industry her soul was “injected with such a venom”.
“Leah shook my being … her existence called me to order. Not for anyone else, but for myself! I was humbled like you cannot believe BUT reminded of who the f**k I am!”

Denise revealed that she reached out to Ayanda Thabethe.
“One person I contacted… @AyandaThabethe. As much as I had an opinion about what I was asked about her, I could have managed that differently. I messaged her to apologize, and understood how my reaction could affected her at the time. Always graceful and peaceful she replied..” she tweeted.
Ayanda replied to Denise’s tweet with a heart emoji

.. and so much love and understanding.
There are however many other feelings I have had about many things, and will still stand by them.
But as much as my intent was not malicious, it had an affect … and for that I do apologize.

Returning to the industry
Denise says she will be making a comeback in the entertainment industry.
“I will be returning to The Industry, thankful if you care, don’t care if you don’t. I’m still the best at my s**t! Anything I touch is authentic, funny, and dope as f**k! I will forever be THE DENISE ZIMBA.
“And when I come back … AGAIN I WILL IGNITE the industry and create a new level of where we need to be, and remind you that we have all power to do so. Leah was my wake-up call from the universe, my humble pie, my ‘don’t forget who the f**k you are, and why you are here’.”
