Jennifer Bala is adjusting to her new life as a mom of three.
The entrepreneur, who is married to singer Loyiso Bala, says she had complications following the birth of her daughter, Jody Olona.
“Taking time to adjust to my new normal, while hubby is also out of town. Juggling a working from home #momlife…all while trying to recover from my cesarean, which left me with some minor complications. Got called into the Gynae’s rooms… because apparently my lab results indicated I had a severe, extremely resistant, bacterial infection that can only be treated by an IV antibiotic for which one has to be admitted into hospital!” she revealed.
But Jennifer says she will not have to be admitted.
“Thank God, my incision tells a different story so I am able to stay home and heal without any further meds or anything. I guess these day-to-day challenges keep us on our toes and make us all the more grateful for our blessings and everything that’s going well or could be worse.”

Family of five
Jody was born earlier this month. She joins big sisters Kenzie and Tori in the Bala household.
“I’m incredibly grateful that all went well, especially during this third peak of a pandemic. We are both doing good…I’m just exhausted, swollen, healing, happy and relieved all simultaneously.”
Meanwhile, Loyiso is excited to be a girl dad. “Our family is now complete,” he wrote about his family of five.
The singer also explained the meaning behind his daughter’s name.
“Jody – God increases / He will add. Olona (uthando) – Xhosa for great love… can also be in context of great faith.”
