Nelisiwe Faith Sibiya’s journey to success was not a smooth one. The actress has had her fair share of ups and downs.
She revealed that she had to sleep in a mall bathroom before making it big in the industry.
“One day, I’ll tell you a story of how I used to sleep in the bathroom for six months at the Glen Mall working as a promoter,” Nelisiwe wrote.
The ‘Durban Gen’ star says she has come a long way.
Nelisiwe’s followers praised her for not giving up on her dreams.
“God had a plan for your life. He knew you were destined for greatness,” a woman named Puleng commented.
“And they always ask me ukuth kanti why do I look up to you, [You’re] an inspiration to us who are still growing Sis’ Nelih mina I’m 18 years I matriculated last year,” another fan wrote.

Traumatic childhood
Nelisiwe is an open book. She also spoke candidly about her traumatic childhood in a heartbreaking post she shared in December.
The actress said a shooting scene on ‘Durban Gen’ brought back painful memories.
“It brought back all the pain when I was young, at the age of eight or nine, when my dad was shot in front of me. All the trauma we went through with my siblings when my father was hunted down and eventually killed by guns.”
But she said the experience helped her heal.
“I remember I cried so hard and got really sick… It taught me how important it is to deal with our childhood trauma … I remember I had to go home for a whole weekend just to recover.
“Playing the character of Mbali in Durban Gen is nothing but a blessing … I am acting but at the same time I’m healing,” she wrote.
