- Gauteng police are investigating the deaths of 14-year-old twins who were found stabbed at their home in Mamelodi West, Tshwane.

Fourteen-year-old teenage twins have been stabbed to death at their home in Mamelodi West, in the City of Tshwane.
The twins were reportedly stabbed on Friday, 2 October 2026, by unknown suspects.
Their lifeless bodies, which had multiple stab wounds, were discovered by their mother shortly after she returned home from work.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear at this stage, and no one has been arrested.
Police say there were no indications of forced entry at the home. However, investigators are following up on several leads as they work to establish what happened.
Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says investigations are underway.
“Unfortunately, I cannot dwell much into the investigation, lest I jeopardise it. We hope the information will lead us somewhere, and it will also assist us in correcting and unravelling the circumstances that led to this gruesome incident,” she says.
Meanwhile, the Mamelodi West community has reacted with shock and disbelief following the deaths of the two teenagers.
Community members say they are living in fear following the incident, with concerns growing about safety in the area.
Police are continuing with their investigation as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths and identify those responsible.
