The suspended Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) in KwaZulu-Natal, Lesetja Senona, has reportedly resigned with immediate effect.
Senona is understood to have tendered his resignation on Friday, 26 June 2026, just days after appearing before the Madlanga Commission.
He is among the senior police officials facing scrutiny following recommendations contained in the commission’s interim report into alleged corruption and wrongdoing.
Senona’s career has been overshadowed by allegations relating to his alleged association with suspected underworld figure Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
