Uncle Waffles hits back at people who have been criticising her recent weight loss

International DJ Uncle Waffles has clapped back at critics who continue to body-shame her and make inappropriate comments about her sexuality.
Since rising to fame, Waffles has faced constant scrutiny over her body. Some online users, particularly from West and North Africa, once went as far as demanding that she “prove” her gender because of her petite chest, with others cruelly alleging that she is transgender. For years, she chose not to respond.
However, a recent video of her performing overseas sparked another wave of comments, with critics suggesting that she had lost a noticeable amount of weight. This time, she refused to remain silent.

Taking to TikTok, Waffles urged people to stop being weird about other people’s bodies and sexualities.
“As someone who has experienced a lot of constant criticism about my appearance, I want to say the Olympics to tear down my ego are never gonna work,” she said.
“My appearance is not to please you, it’s to be comfortable with myself. Everything I do is for me.”
She explained that her recent weight loss is linked to the demands of a busy travel schedule and emphasised that people should stop trying to tear down female artists simply because of how they look.
“What I call the ‘Olympics’ started with people saying I was trans, and now it’s about my weight,” she added. “Either way, it’s not your business.”
