DJ Poizen, real name Cavin Masetla, tragically died in a head-on collision near Polokwane

The South African music industry has suffered a tremendous loss with the death of musician Cavin Masetla, affectionately known as DJ Poizen.
The 33-year-old South African-born musician lost his life in a horrific head-on collision in the early hours of Saturday morning outside Polokwane.
Police reports indicate that two sedans collided head-on, killing five people, with two more sustaining serious injuries.
“Out of the five people who passed on, four of them were burnt beyond recognition, and the two injured — which include a driver and a passenger — were taken to a nearby hospital,” said the spokesperson of Transport and Community Safety, Tidimalo Chuene.
Preliminary reports indicate that one of the vehicles attempted to overtake. Although SAPS is busy with investigations, recklessness cannot be ruled out.
Poizen was traveling with fellow musician Chymamusique, following a performance they had in Mokopane the night before.
Chymamusique is badly injured and is currently fighting for his life in ICU.
Reacting to Poizen’s death, the South African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) said the DJ will be remembered as a talented and beloved music composer.
