The stepdaughter of reality TV star Nozipho Ntshangase has set social media abuzz after revealing sensitive details about her family’s polygamous marriage.
Kholwani “Coco” Ntshangase took to Instagram with a lengthy and shocking statement, disclosing that she has not been in contact with her stepmother, Nozipho, since her father, Zola Ntshangase, married his second wife, 25-year-old Misokuhle.
According to Coco, her once-close bond with Nozipho drastically changed after the marriage.
She made the revelations while responding to online trolls who criticised her for publicly posting about her relationship with her new stepmother, accusing her of disrespecting Nozipho.
Social media users slammed Coco for “flaunting” her father’s second wife, reminding her that Nozipho had once welcomed her warmly and ensured she had a comfortable childhood.
Addressing the backlash, Coco condemned what she described as cyberbullying:
“It’s draining seeing people speak on things they do not know much about. What was shared online is only a small part of what has been happening. So much has happened since then that you guys don’t know about.”
She insisted that her decision to attend her father’s second wedding was not about taking sides but about showing support to her father.
On The Mommy Club, Nozipho had previously broken down in tears over her husband’s new union, saying she had been Zola’s only wife for 17 years and couldn’t understand what had changed.
“The plan has changed to bring me and my kids pain,” she said at the time.
Although Nozipho has since remained silent on the matter, even during her return to The Mommy Club, Coco admitted the marriage had initially taken a toll on the children, affecting their emotional well-being and school performance.
However, she explained that accepting the reality of her father’s decision ultimately brought them more peace than resisting it.
“The reason we chose to accept everything and move forward is because we realised we couldn’t keep holding onto something we couldn’t change. Ubaba had made his decision and whether we agreed or not, it was going to happen. Going against it was only hurting us emotionally.”
In one part of her statement, Coco hinted that Nozipho may not have been entirely truthful about the situation.
“My dad did not just wake up and decide on isthembu. There’s always more to the story, and unfortunately, we were misled.”
This remark was not well received, with many X users calling Coco a hypocrite and accusing her of trying to villainize Nozipho.
The drama continues to stir fierce debate online, with many divided on whether Coco is just being a kid or unfairly turning her back on the woman who raised her.
Coco has since deactivated her Instaram account.
