Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday informed U.S. President Donald Trump that he has officially nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize.
The revelation came during a meeting between the two leaders at the White House, where Netanyahu presented Trump with a copy of the nomination letter sent to the prize committee.
Speaking to reporters as their meeting commenced, Netanyahu highlighted Trump’s ongoing efforts to foster peace.
“He’s forging peace as we speak, in one country, in one region after the other.
“I want to present to you, Mr President, the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize Committee. It’s nominating you for the Peace Prize, which is well deserved, and you should get it,” Netanyahu stated, praising the President’s actions.

The Israeli Prime Minister also noted that Israel is collaborating closely with the United States to identify countries willing to offer a better future for Palestinians.
Trump has previously received multiple Nobel Peace Prize nominations from various supporters and lawmakers, and has openly expressed his desire for the prestigious award.
