According to police, the individuals are believed to be linked to a series of house robberies.
The incident occurred just hours after Gauteng Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni, revealed that Gauteng accounts for 26.2% of the national crime rate.
Mthombeni addressed the provincial portfolio of community safety on the fourth quarter crime statistics for the 2024/25 financial year.
He also noted that robberies are a major contributor to the province’s murder statistics.
