Mamelodi Sundowns fans have been urged to rally behind their team by welcoming them home at OR Tambo International Airport on Monday afternoon.
This comes after the “Brazilians” lost the CAF Champions League final to Pyramids FC in Cairo, Egypt.
The Egyptian side secured a 2-1 win in the second leg of the final showdown, adding to the disappointment for Sundowns fans.
Despite the loss, the team’s management is encouraging supporters to show love and appreciation for their efforts.
In a statement released on social media, Sundowns asked fans to join them at the airport to welcome the team with their signature “Masandawana spirit.”
“Our boys will be touching down early this afternoon! Join us at the airport & let’s welcome them home with our Masandawana spirit!” the team posted.

However, this post was received in a negative way by disappointed Masandawana fans.
Many took to social media to express their frustration, with some even stating they wouldn’t welcome the team home.
Despite this, the team’s call for support remains, and fans are encouraged to put aside their disappointment and show appreciation for their team’s efforts.
The team is expected to land at OR Tambo International Airport around midday on Monday.
