South African music star Tyla is set to make history as the official host of the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, becoming the first African to helm the beloved children’s awards show.
The announcement has generated excitement both locally and internationally for the talented artist.
The high-energy celebration, known for its signature slime and vibrant atmosphere, will air on Wednesday, June 25th at 17:00 Central Africa Time (CAT) on Nickelodeon (DStv channel 305).
The event will broadcast live from the iconic Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
Viewers can anticipate a lively show filled with celebrity appearances, thrilling stunts, and electrifying musical performances, all guided by Tyla’s dynamic presence.
Overwhelmed with excitement, Tyla took to X to share her enthusiasm, simply stating:
“I’m really about to host the kids choice awards.”
Adding to the excitement, Tyla is also a double nominee at this year’s awards, vying for the titles of Favorite Global Music Star and Favorite Music Collaboration. She joins a star-studded list of nominees, including first-time contenders such as Gracie Abrams, Zach Bryan, Florence Pugh, and Shohei Ohtani.
Leading the pack with multiple nominations are music heavyweights Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, and Kendrick Lamar, each securing four nods.
