Catholic cardinals from across the globe are set to begin the task of electing a new Pope this Wednesday afternoon within the walls of the Sistine Chapel.
This conclave is anticipated to be one of the largest and potentially most unpredictable in the Church’s history.
The passing of Pope Francis last month at the age of 88 has started a period of intense deliberation.
This body is comprised of individuals holding a spectrum of views, with some aligned with the progressive direction of Francis’s papacy and others eager to reverse his reforms.

According to the Vatican News, this ceremony will also be covered live in 11 languages, in addition to Sign Language in English, Spanish, and Italian.
