Actor, comedian, and activist Siv Ngesi is on the verge of realising a significant personal ambition: to open a sanitary pad factory to produce his own affordable, high quality sanitary pad.
This venture, a decade in the making, has been Ngesi’s long-standing commitment to women’s menstrual health and dignity.
Ngesi, who co-founded the impactful MENstruation Foundation, has been a vocal advocate for accessible and affordable menstrual hygiene products.
His foundation currently stands as the largest non-profit distributor of free sanitary pads in Africa, notably through its innovative Sanitary Pad Dispensing Machines.
Now, that vision is becoming a tangible reality. In a recent enthusiastic announcement, Ngesi shared his excitement, stating:
“For the last 10 years I have had a dream to open a sanitary pad factory , to produce my own very affordable and high quality sanitary pad! The dream is now weeks away from coming true(period) #nevergiveup🩸 @menstruationfoundationza” wrote Ngesi
A year ago, Ngesi hinted at this new endeavor, sharing his enthusiasm on Instagram after an extensive product testing trip in China.
This upcoming factory marks a significant step for Ngesi beyond his philanthropic work with the MENstruation Foundation.
