In a dramatic turn of events, a leaked audio recording has revealed former President Jacob Zuma, now at the helm of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, unequivocally rejecting the African National Congress’s (ANC) proposal for the MK Party to join the newly formed Government of National Unity (GNU).
The audio, allegedly captured during a confidential meeting of the MK Party’s National High Command in Durban, captures Zuma’s scathing assessment of the ANC’s leadership and their initiative.
He is heard referring to certain figures within the ruling party as “recruited enemies,” signaling deep mistrust and animosity.
“We cannot work with recruited enemies within the ANC,” Zuma reportedly states in the audio, implying that certain individuals within the ANC have been swayed to act against the party’s foundational principles.

He further casts doubt on the ANC’s motives behind the unity government proposal, suggesting it is a strategic ploy to weaken opposition forces and maintain their grip on power.
The Siz The World team reflected on these developments and asked, “Do you think the MK party leaked the audio deliberately? What do you think they are working on? Why is the ANC so defensive?”
