EFF leader Julius Malema is beaming with pride as his eldest son, Ratanang Malema, recently celebrated his 18th birthday.
“Happy Birthday, Mushavi Ratanang Malema! It’s your special day, and you’re finally legal,” Malema expressed with joy.
“I’m grateful to have kept my promise to the departed, to watch over you until you’re able to stand on your own.”
Malema went on to say that Ratanang has always been a well-mannered and respectful young man, and he trusts that this won’t change.
“Remember, trust no one, but don’t let anyone bring you down. Stay true to yourself. Whenever I felt like giving up, I looked at you and my grandmother and found the strength to carry on,” Malema shared, reflecting on the support he’s drawn from his family, including Ratanang, his brothers, and their mother.
“Keep up your discipline and respect, and always greet everyone in the room, regardless of their age or status. I love you, Tšhipi,” Malema said, wishing his son the best of luck with his upcoming exams.
Earlier this year, Julius Malema had the joy of helping Ratanang get ready for his matric dance and even got to drive him there.
Reflecting on the experience Malema shared, “I made the decision to become a father, and I have been putting in a lot of effort. Yesterday was a memorable and exciting experience.”
He went on to say, “I had the pleasure of assisting my eldest son as he prepared for his matric dance and became his chauffeur.”
Malema also mentioned how important it is to him that his ancestors taught him not to be “envious or hateful,” which he believes has contributed to their success.
