A drug lab was found at the Makotse hamlet in Lebowakgomo on Sunday as a result of a coordinated operation by the Limpopo Provincial Flying Squad, the Limpopo Provincial Organised Crime Unit, and the Lebowakgomo police.
Three individuals, ages 25 to 33, were arrested after drugs worth about R4 million were found. The accused were charged with narcotics possession and trafficking when they appeared in court on Monday at Thabamoopo Magistrate’s Court.
Their case has been rescheduled for a formal bail application on October 7, 2024.
“The police discovered a significant quantity of mandrax at the suspect’s residence and located a nearby drug manufacturing lab containing various chemicals and substances used in drug production.
“The SAPS Forensic Science Laboratory has been alerted to investigate the drug lab further. Security measures will remain in place at the site until the investigation is completed,” said The South African Police Service
