Johannesburg Water will be closing Sandton meters overnight as part of water demand management efforts.
In a statement, the water utility said Sandton meters will be closed on Wednesday, 04 September from 20:00 until 04:00 on Thursday morning.
This is to ensure water supply distribution to struggling systems and areas within the JHB Water network.
According to JHB Water the Linbro Park and Marlboro direct feeds will be affected the most during these interventions and all customers fed by the Sandton systems may experience poor pressure to no water overnight.
Affected areas include:
- Linbro Park direct feed
- Marlboro direct feed
- Linbro Park reservoir
- Marlboro reservoir
- Illovo reservoir and Illovo tower
- Bryanston reservoir and Bryanston tower
- Morningside reservoir
It will take several hours for water supply to fully recover once the meters are reopened.
