A listener has reached out to The Best T in the City with Tbose as she and her husband are having challenges in their relationship due to finances.
Her boyfriend lent her money in May of this year and now he wants it back. Despite her efforts to explain to him that she had some financial challenges and would pay the money back as soon as she had it, the boyfriend has not been understanding at all.
“My boyfriend lent me R5000 in May as my car was giving me problems. I was supposed to pay him at the end of July but then we had a funeral at home, and I couldn’t pay him, as I used the money to assist at home and I informed him of this decision.
“This has caused so much tension. He is always asking me when he will get his money. I told him at the end of October and he got angry, his reaction has really put me off.
“Surely, as my boyfriend, he should be easy on me; he knows my financial situation. I am so bored and I want to pay him back and leave him. I hate how he had made money, such a big issue. Or am I the one that’s being unfair?
“I’ll understand if he was blinded to my financial situation, and I didn’t inform him of the decisions I took regarding his money. I am still here, with him, going nowhere. Am I entitled? Why do I find his attitude towards money so offensive? What could be my blind spot?”
Another listener noted that if he is going to be acting like this for a mere R5000, then probably doesn’t want to be spending the rest of her life with him.
Another listener mentioned that if he’s going to act this way over just R5000, then she probably doesn’t want to spend the rest of her life with him.
