Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule was laid to rest on Saturday, 17 August after a beautiful funeral service held at the Durban ICC.
The founder of the Crown Gospel Music Awards and former uKhozi FM presenter was laid to rest at the Marianhill Cemetary in Pinetown, Kwa-Zulu Natal following a memorial service on Thursday, 15 August.
This after Mbokazi-Nkambule passed away on 12 August following her short battle with lung cancer.
Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule was diagnosed with lung cancer in April after she fell sick whilst on her radio show.
Following a procedure due to Zanele experiencing shortness of breath, doctors confirmed her lung cancer diagnosis.
Mbokazi-Nkambule was widely recognized for her leadership in gospel ministries and her funeral service was filled with heartfelt tributes and reflections on her impact in the industry.
Not only was Mbokazi-Nkambule a renowned gospel promoter, but a spiritual leader whose work touched the lives of many.
Her passion for ministry extended beyond music and she was a woman of deep faith who was dedicated to spreading the message of hope and uplifting those around her.
Speakers at the funeral service included Bishop Benjamin Dube, Dr Rebecca Malope, Lindelani Mkhize, Dumi Mkokstad, and her children, who described Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule as a pioneer whose influence extended generations, both with seasoned musicians and newcomers to the industry.
