A close relative to the children who were forcefully removed from Matsediso Primary School by controversial Pastor Paseka Mboro Motsoeneng earlier this week has spoken out.
The relative alleges that Mboro first attacked the family last Friday – after the father forcefully took the children from their maternal grandmother on Thursday.
She has described Mboro as dangerous, arrogant, and violent. She says not only has he made the lives of the family difficult but those of the children too as he has deprived them of being able to take their daily medication. She alleges that two people, her sister and nephew have been wrongfully arrested in the matter and demands they be released.
The two families have been involved in a custody battle after the mother of the minors recently passed away.
Five people are set to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court today following a video that went viral on social media – where Mborao can be seen forcefully removing the kids from school – carrying pangas.
Colonel Noxolo Kweza, a police spokesperson, said that the four people were arrested on Monday night and are scheduled to appear in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court shortly.
“One of the suspects was arrested for assaulting the station commander at Katlehong North Police Station when a group of people were demanding to deal with the local pastor outside the police station,”
Point of View with Phemelo Motene spoke to Police Minister Senzo Mchunu about safety in schools and other policing issues.
