Boomshaka member and actress Thembi Seete recently took to social media to wish her former group member and friend Lebo Mathosa a happy heavenly birthday.
Thembi expressed, “You’ve been on our minds and in our hearts a lot lately,” expressed Thembi. “We talk about you every day and miss you so much.”
The day before Lebo’s birthday, Thembi and her friends shared fond memories of the late singer, enjoying her favourite dish.
“It’s just not the same without you,” she added. “We miss you more than words can express. We feel your presence every single time when we are on stage. Thank you for the gift of Music.”
Lebo Mathosa was a well-known South African singer, dancer, and actress, known for her captivating stage presence and impact on the Kwaito music genre.
She was a member of Kwaito group Boom Shaka, established in 1993. The group gained popularity for their lively performances and hit songs like “It’s About Time” and “Thobela.”
In the late 1990s, Lebo embarked on a successful solo career, releasing multiple albums that highlighted her versatility and unique flair. Some of her solo hits include “Free,” “Au Dede,” and “Ntozabantu.”
