Tragedy struck the Hlalele family who lost 4 children in the tragic Carletonville scholar transport accident on Wednesday, 10 July.
The mothers of the 4 children, two boys and two girls are sisters who are said to be inconsolable after a Ford Ranger struck the scholar transport from behind, causing it to topple over and then catch fire.
Speaking to Kaya News, the shattered family said there are no words to describe what they are going through.
Forced to accept the devastating news, the family is waiting for the investigation to be concluded so they can get some closure.
This was the first time the children in Grades 2, 3, 5 and 7 were using scholar transport.
Reneilwe Hlalele, 7-years, Thato Hlalele, 8-years, Hlompho Hlalele, 11-years and Sihle Hlalele, 12-years sadly died in the tragic accident.
The Hlalele family said it was traumatic arriving on the scene of the crash to find no sign of life and to realize the sad fate the children had endured.
On Thursday, the number of learners who passed in the accident was revised from 12 to 11. Unfortunately, the scholar transport driver also perished in the collision.
According to reports, 7 other learners were rushed to hospital and have since been discharged.
The driver of the Ford Ranger survived the collision and was taken to hospital.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened.
